Robert Johnson, former chief executive of Bowne & Co., pleaded guilty to child pornigraphy and obstruction of justice charges, prosecutors said. Here’s the Reuters piece.
In a press release, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan said Johnson, 60 years old, entered a guilty plea to possession of child pornigraphy and to destruction of documents in connection with a federal investigation. He retired from Bowne in May 2004, citing personal reasons. He was indicted on the charges in June 2005. According to Reuters, Johnson was once a member of New York’s state education board.
According to the indictment, Johnson allegedly used a Bowne computer between April 2002 and May 2004 to access child pornigraphy Web sites, downloaded at least two child porn movies and kept them on his hard drive. Later, after he was contacted by federal authorities, Johnson allegedly used a computer program called “Evidence Eliminator” to remove more than 12,000 files from his desktop and laptop computers.
“This is a matter between Mr. Johnson as an individual and the authorities,” a Bowne spokesman said Friday. “We expect it to have no impact on our business or our operations.”
Johnson faces up to 20 years in prison on the destruction of documents charge. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 27.

Когда я прочел эту заметку, то немедленно всплыла фраза "и эти люди запрещают мне ковыряться в носу!" Примерно в то же время, когда Боба накрыло ФБР, эта зараза разослала по фирме грозное письмо о том, что, мол, многие сотрудники фирмы используют компьютеры не по назначению, шарятся по веб-сайтам и что это будет строго караться. Мы поудивлялись, - ну и ладно...
Интересно, что примерно через месяц после этого случилась еще одна утечка: к спамерам попала адресная книга всей фирмы и нас окатило спамом. Первое письмо я не забуду никогда: оно было адресовано лично BoJo, ему предлагалось удлинить член. Все остальные сотрудники были в cc:.
